Rest In Peace, Former Chamber of Commerce President, Chuck Lero
What can you say about a man that loved his husband, his town, good food, wine and traveling. When I first met Chuck I was working for Doris & Ed’s Restaurant. Chuck and Joe would come in every Friday night at 8pm for their usual seats at the bar with a bottle of Flowers Chardonnay. When Doris & Ed’s closed we worked on the Chamber of Commerce together and then his bid for Councilman. Chuck was a five year past president for the Chamber from 2010 to 2015. He also was an Atlantic Highlands Councilman from 2015 to 2018. He always made it fun even when the times were trying. I will always love and miss his humor and our conversations. He was always there willing to help anyone. What a sad day it was to hear of the passing of such a generous, giving man. Atlantic Highlands has lost a gem. I’m sure though somewhere Jim Filip is waiting for him with that bottle of chardonnay toasting him. Have a drink for all of us. We will miss you.
